It is your responsibility as dog owner to provide appropriate chew toys for your dog to enjoy.
Avoid chicken bones as it can splinter and creating sharp fragments which can easily puncture the gastrointestinal tract of your dog.
Dental chewsticks are great as it encourage appropriate chewing and combating dental disease.
Do not introduce toys to your dog that resemble inappropriate items for example an old shoe. Your dog will not know the difference between your old and new shoes. If your dog is full grown and you come home to find your shoes, coach cushions etc ripped to shreds, your dog could be exhibiting signs of separation anxiety.
