One question we receive on almost a daily basis is… Can we train our older dog or can older even be trained?
I think the saying… “You can’t train a old dogs new tricks” has a factor to play for people thinking that it impossible for older dogs to learn any new commands.

Today we have good news in saying that we have had massive success in training older dogs.
Most of the problems we have had were toilet training related or dogs just not listening to any commands from their owners.

While on the subject of obedience classes for older dogs. We will admit that training older dogs can be much more difficult than training younger puppies but with the experience we have had over the last years we are confident that we can help any family with that has obedience issues with their K9 friend.

What we would like to touch on this article is that people should not be afraid of adopting older dogs. As we have mentioned these very special friends can be well trained and can learn new commands.

Something interesting that we have also picked up on is that older dogs can bond very quickly because most of the time they know how to get along well with other humans or animals.

When dogs get older they are also less energetic so they are easier to control.
